Interview with Award-winning Author Rachelle J. Christensen!

So excited for you to “meet” Rachelle J. Christensen, award-winning author of Wrong Number and most recently, Caller ID.
Both books are wonderfully well-written, with excellent pacing, shocker plot twists, and terrific characterizations. I had to laugh because I couldn’t read Caller ID at night, I’m a total suspense wimp dog. Which means it’s a page-turner, but not graphic. If you love mystery/suspense with a bit of sweet romance in the mix, check out Rachelle’s books, and this great interview!
When did you first know you were going to be a writer?
I’ve always loved to write. I used to sit out in the pasture and write poetry on all kinds of topics, then I began writing stories. I couldn’t stop exploring that world of writing and my obsession with those scribbles on the page, and here I am.
How are Wrong Number, your 1st book and Caller ID related?
Caller ID is a spin-off from my first book, taking FBI Agent Jason Edwards and continuing his story. They can be read as a stand-alone because only one character is the same, but I will say that he was a favorite from Wrong Number that people wanted to know more about.
How long did it take you to write Caller ID?
About two months, but I got the idea for the story almost a year before and let it percolate. After the first draft, I went on to torture myself with revisions for the next eight months.
Who are the biggest cheerleaders of your writing? What do they do to encourage you?
My family, especially my husband. They ask about my writing, read early drafts of my books, help make time for me to write, and encourage me in my goals. I’m so thankful to have a supportive family—my husband is my biggest fan.
What’s something you would tell to aspiring writers that you wished you’d known from the beginning?
That you never stop learning, so don’t ever think that you can sit back and say, “I know all there is about writing.” Get yourself to a writers conference and soak up the knowledge!
What are you working on right now?
I’ve been working on revisions with my agent, Paula Munier. I’ve just finished some heavy editing on book one of a new mystery series. I had so much fun writing this novel and getting to know the characters.
Where are the best places on the internet to learn about you?
