Creating Healthy Relationships Related to our Fitness Goals

Young Girls Taking a PictureCreating healthy relationships related to our fitness goals can be just as important as the foods we put on our plate.
Surround yourself with family and friends that support you in your new goals. If they don’t, it will be harder to succeed.
I talked with my family beforehand and asked them to help me. They were careful about what goodies they would make so I could keep on track. They were my cheerleaders all of the time, which really helped me lose those fifty pounds.
If you surround yourself with people that tell you, ‘Just one bite won’t hurt you’, they are setting you up to fail. They may not mean to, maybe they are feeling guilty themselves for not trying to eat better, or they feel a bit jealous because you are starting to look great.
Three things that you can do right now to create positive changes with those around you:
1. Tell friends and family your goals. Not only can they help you succeed by joining you and, they can keep you accountable.
2. Always keep healthy foods around for snacking. Those healthy choices might rub off on those you are around the most.
3. Try new things, whether new healthy foods, or a new exercise routine and share them with those close to you.
Whatever the case maybe, let those around you know that you are making healthy choices so you can be around for your family (and keep yourself sane). I believe that if they are truly your friends, they will find out you are serious and who knows, may want to join you. You might actually inspire others to choose to be healthier.
