DAY 7: POSITIVE!

Day-7Matthew 14:27
“27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.”
John 16:30
“33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
I love how positive the Savior was! Even when He daily dealt with plagues and sicknesses from the multitudes, corruption and vindictiveness from the Pharisees, and the bitter and overwhelming knowledge of what horrors the future held for Himself, still, He was cheerful.
Some days, I’m just not that cheerful. And yet, as I was talking with a friend the other day, whining about something in my life that wasn’t happening as fast as I would like it to, I stopped talking. Then said, “You know, if that’s the worst my life has to offer, I have it pretty darn good.”
Maybe this holiday season has brought financial stress, or emotional difficulties, or just plain exhaustion and sickness. Maybe the water heater goes out, or the car breaks down, or your child is in trouble at the school again. Or maybe you’re facing serious trials of divorce, loss of a loved one, or terminal illness. Whatever the challenge or trial, know that He has borne not only yours, but worse than this. And done it for billions and billions of people. Just so that we might have joy, that we might have peace, that we might have cheer. He has overcome the world so we can be happier today.
How can you be more cheerful in your conversation or actions today?
Best,
Connie
