Recipe for Applesauce Spice Cake/WIP!

Due to interest, I’m posting the yummy, super easy Apple Sauce Spice Cake (Western Family). Besides moist and tasty plain, I would guess it’s also good with real vanilla bean ice cream, whipped cream, or cream cheese frosting:)
Apple Sauce Spice Cake
3 1/2 c. flour
3 tsp baking soda
3 tsp cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp salt
1 c pecans (optional)
2 eggs
1/2 c butter
3 c. applesauce
2 c. sugar (I used 1 c. turbinado and it was great)
Mix dry ingredients in a bowl, set aside. Mix wet ingredients for two minutes. Add dry ingredients and pour into pan (I used a Bundt). Bake for 90 minutes or until done. Dust with powdered sugar after its cooled, if you like.
Enjoy!!

Calling All Writers!!
If you’re a writer, you might enjoy this WIP blog hop–you can find out what other writers are working on by going to the email addresses of those to be tagged below. Hopefully it will inspire you to keep writing!
What is the working title of your book?
True Story
Where did the idea come from for the book?
Watching one too many romance movies. But particularly, and ironically, “North and South” because of the main male character. And, I wanted to write something about what happens when a good girl goes into a typically bad industry. Will she hold to her values, even when it involves a really handsome, fabulous man?
What genre does your book fall under?
Romance and Women’s Contemporary Fiction
Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
Richard Armitage and Kristen Bell, or someone like her–fresh-faced but spunky.
What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
Small-town Katie Connelly–overworked and undervalued in a NY PR firm–gets the golden opportunity to intern for British star Ian Harrington who’s on the verge of global success except for a crushing past mistake which Katie must choose to reveal or keep secret, creating life-changing consequences.
Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
I’ll take a shot at querying it but if it doesn’t pan out, I’ll do the self pub route.
How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
A long time because I’d stop and start with kids’ things, then in between I traditionally published two books and self published my first romance. It feels FABULOUS to finally be focused on it again.
What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
Who or What inspired you to write this book?
Strangely enough, I woke up one morning at about 6:30 a.m. and had this entire plot idea just bam, in my head. So I what I always have to do, and run to the bathroom with my Acer so I could get it all down before the kids would wake up and I would lose my train of thought!
What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
So much!! It’s set in New York and London, involves two men in love with one girl, is about how each of them learn what the true story is about their lives (and whether or not they like it) and then how they change it, and allow the others to influence them to positively change to. It’s a warm, funny, tear-jerking, romantic read that I cannot wait to have absolutely completed.
Thanks for taking a minute to be interested in my latest writing progress! Okay, taggees–you’re up!
