We did it! Real change with simple tools!

Last week we started our first evening of the monthly Back to Basics mentoring program.
Wow.
The stories from the women and how they found the program were inspiring. The two hours spent together discussing Holy Habits and Create a Life Plan were enlightening. And each of us left rejuvenated and ready for the week knowing we had support and encouragement.
And now, after a week, we’re seeing the fruits of our labors from just one week. Women made goals to create their Life Paragraph, eat healthier, get organized, etc. And they did them!
And I found for myself, that I was able to achieve Bonus Goals! Using the Back to Basics tips and techniques for goal-setting I was able to:
*begin a habit of listen to scripture in the morning while getting ready (besides personal reading)
*outline a new novella
*write 10,000 words of the novella
*Family project of cleaning out our family laundry with the children helping (and it’s STAYED clean!)
*Family project of deep cleaning the home with the children
*Family project of deep cleaning rooms with the children
*Being spontaneous several times with my husband and kids (working on this!)
Honestly, I was blown away by what got done but how much I enjoyed the process.
One thing also re-learned was the importance of working with my rhythm. When you’re not able to accomplish a goal, it’s wise to ask deeper questions. When you do, you’ll hit on the reason, and if not, you’ll find the ability to do what doesn’t make sense.
For example, I made a few goals and sincerely desired to do them but when the time came, it didn’t feel like a fit.
For example:
*One morning I planned to work out. But I awoke tired so I slept in and had the energy later to do the cleaning (a work out!)
*Another morning I had planned to arise early and write but got needed sleep. Beautifully, I was able to be more productive at another writing time, more than I had thought I would be.
Working with my rhythm and listening to my body was wise. I found out from lab results that my iron was supposed to be at 100 and it was currently at 8.
Make the goal. Take a step. Trust the process.
These and other goal-setting techniques and tips really do work. As we apply one small truth, we find it dominoes through our lives to create clarity, organization, health, and joy.
Enjoy a Back to Basics week!
