Is it just me or has the Summer Relief begun? Right before the Summer Reality hits?
Then join me for a week of no posts. Yes, each summer I give my children the gift of the one-week slough; meaning, we sleep in, we relax, we don’t jump into any major projects. No, we simply recuperate from the school year routine.
At least, on paper, that’s how it’s supposed to be. And as the children get older, that week-long wonder gets shorter and shorter. Girls’ camp, scout camp, doctor’s physicals, travel plans all infringe on our used-to-be mellow and lazily joyful week. But alas, we will make it as long as we can amidst the busyness of summer by throwing in afternoon naps and outside playtime with popsicles as much as possible.
So for this week, no more posts from us. Instead, we hope you’re swinging on a hammock and playing hookie with your kids!
Hugs,
Connie
