Sometimes we get so focused on self-progression and goal setting that we pull into our own little world, feeling it’s all on us.
Not so.
A big—and fulfilling—part of achieving personal goals is to involve others. That’s the fun of it, that’s the joy of it: having others be happy for and help you, and you doing the same for them.
This past week Carol R. said her goal was to weed the front area of their yard. But you know what happened, right? Immediately, there was a family change of plans!
But she adjusted in a beautiful way. Carol says, “I wasn’t sure I would be able to accomplish this goal this week because my daughter got strep throat so I watched her kids for the week. That may not seem like a big deal but she homeschools both kids so I had to homeschool too! I LOVED it but my time was pretty crunched. Then I thought why not have the kids help me for an activity! And they loved it and boy does it look nice!”
LOVE that! She involved her grandchildren and not only accomplished what needed to be done, but had MORE fun doing it while connecting with them, and taught some life skills along the way. Does it get any better?
So remember, be your bold self, invite others to help, ask someone to be involved in your goal adventure. And if they say no, no worries. Ask someone else, or try it a different way. It’s creativity that finds the right solution.
No woman is an island, so enjoy inviting others to share the adventurous ride of creating your ideal life. You’ll not only love the ride more, but help others to catch the joy of it, and they will invite you to join their ride too!
Best,
Connie
