Enjoy a short excerpt from Connie’s special devotional book 40 Days with the Savior. What a perfect way to celebrate Christmas this year!
“Day 14: He is Cheerful”
“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:30
I love how positive the Savior was! Even when He dealt daily with plagues and sicknesses among the multitudes, corruption and vindictiveness from the Pharisees, and the bitter and overwhelming knowledge of His future horrors, still, He was cheerful.
Some days, I’m just not that cheerful. And yet, as I was recently talking with a friend, whining about something in my life that wasn’t happening as fast as I would like it to, I stopped talking. Then I said, “You know, if that’s the worst my life has to offer, then things are great.”
Whatever the challenge or trial, know that He has borne not only your sins but your fears, sorrows, and heartaches. And done so for billions and billions of people, just so that we all, very personally, might have joy. That we might have peace. That we might have cheer. He has overcome the world so that we can be happier today.
What is one way I can be more cheerful today?”

Book review:
“Connie Sokol’s ‘40 Days with the Savior’ is just the little push I needed to feel the Savior’s presence in my daily life. I loved her daily nuggets of wisdom, with titles like, “He Did the Right Thing”, “He Gently Corrects”, “He Wants What’s Best for Others”, to prompt a change of behavior in me. Using personal stories, scriptural accounts, and meaningful insights, she helps readers draws closer to Jesus Christ and become a more Christ-centered person. Thanks, Connie! My season will be more meaningful this year, because of you!”
