On this journey I’ve found that marital conversation between my hubby and I can tend to revolve around the daily-dos. The other night we discovered a simple way to share deeper thoughts but with a bit of fun.
We enjoy Scrabble (okay, I enjoy Scrabble and my hubby endures). But instead of doing the usual big word plus major points method, we instead put down words that we would then use in a sentence to ask each other about our lives.
For example, if my hubby put down the word “joy,” he would ask what was one thing that has brought me joy lately? If I put down the word “simple,” I would ask him what were some ways he has found to simplify his life.
Honestly, this was fabulous! We spent a wonderful hour sharing thoughts that just wouldn’t have come up in daily conversation.
If marriage convo is getting a little dry, give this kind of connected Scrabble a whirl!
