Back to Basics Tip #1: Create a space for good.
You’ve likely had ups and downs, and memorable experiences this past year. And now, you’ve got 12 fresh sparkling months ahead of you. How do you make the most of them?
Start by clearing some space. Get rid of emotional or physical obstacles that will impede your progress. Prove to yourself and God or life that you’re a good steward of what you already have. Then, as you make room for more, it will come.
One way to simply do this is choose a current small physical space—a closet, cabinet, or car. Dejunk that area by eliminating what doesn’t belong. Then, ONLY put back what you truly want in that space to make it function optimally. Keep in mind that clarity goes in hand with cleanliness. For example, good advertising usually includes a wise amount of “white space.” It allows your eye and mind to more effectively take in the message.
After you clear the physical space, you’ll be amazed how much lighter you feel, and more motivated you are to make changes. In my 10 years of life coaching I’ve found a direct connection between organization and motivation, as well as ability to follow through.
Today, begin your changes for 2016 by creating a clear space.
