If life is screaming busy without time for workout or wonderful new meals, try these simple tips to look and feel slimmer!
1. Get poised! Stand up straight, shoulders back, just like your mother said—although we used to toss it right back to our Mother who would stand and stir spaghetti sauce with the rounded shoulder of the elderly. Poise does matter. Try it right now as you read! Simply sit and stand taller, and even tighten in your tummy, to look up to five pounds slimmer!
2. Smile! Get those fabulous whitening strips, now super simple with only one to three days to see improvements. Whiter teeth have actually been shown to improve results with hiring interviews and first impressions. Try thirty minutes for three days and check the results!
3. Clean out your closet. Get rid of the I-never-wear, and be merciless. You likely have clothes that you never wear, want to wear but don’t, and likely shouldn’t wear (think anything with large polka dots).
4. Get a quick make-up routine. With seven kids, I need this down to a science. Now I do foundation, eyes, blush, and lips in just under five minutes. Add to that a basic go-to hairdo, and I’m ready for errands. No more old sweats and a hairclip (except on really necessary days!) This is not about being glam-gal every day. It’s about showing self-respect in your appearance, especially as a Mom, by looking and feeling your best (at least 80 percent of the time, right?!)
5. Try new hair highlights. I didn’t do this until my mid-thirties, can you believe it?! What a difference some honey brown highlights made to my hair and face—added sparkle and a little glow. So consider adding a few natural-looking highlights to update your look.
That’s it—simple, fast, and fabulous ways to immediately update and improve your appearance. You’ll not only look slimmer (people will likely say, “Did you lose weight? What have you done differently?”) but you will FEEL BETTER, and ready to face the day!
Best,
Connie
