Using Learning Journals, and 2 Super Deals!

10-secrets-to-connectA few months ago my mother presented me with a priceless gift–a box of letters I had written to her from Japan where I served an LDS church mission thirty years ago. As I began to read the letters, I was stunned by the person I saw–happy, positive, and capable. That’s not what I remembered! Reading through those letters has helped me gain insight, understanding, and appreciation for my life and what I’ve overcome and become.
Why do I bring this up? Because learning journals (and other kinds) are very much like letters to yourself. And as you discover how to simply and realistically and enjoyably use them, life will never be the same. Tune in Thursday at 11 a.m. to my live segment on Studio 5 with Brooke Walker to find out how to make this life skill a life saver. On Friday it will be available on my website. And, enjoy a special TWO-FER treat this week! Get my “What Your 6th Grader Needs to Know” book for only $1.99. A perfect preparation for kids in 4th through 8th grades (all principles apply). Women have reviewed this book as essential, a perfect tool, and just what they needed!

The second treat? A scripture journal–absolutely fabulous–from my friend, Shannon Foster, a.k.a. The Red-headed Hostess. Here’s what she has to share:  Have you seen this Book of Mormon Study Guide by TheRed Headed Hostess (Shannon Foster) that is getting hundreds of amazing reviews?  It is called a “doodle journal” and is designed to help you work through each chapter and record your own thoughts as you learn.
People are loving it because instead of someone else’s thoughts, you write or doodle YOUR OWN commentary as you discover doctrines and principles! It was designed with youth in mind, but turns out every age is loving this book!
You can see a video, flip through some sample pages, read reviews, and see what this book is all about here:  Book of Mormon Study Guide article.  There are two volumes, and you can get them in physical books HERE or in PDF downloads (great for large groups) volume one is found HERE, and volume two is found HERE.
For the rest of this month (August 2016) you can get 20% off of thephysical book (as well as any other book by The Red Headed Hostess) by using this code:  YTCUYUDF.  Or for the digital download, check out THIS ARTICLE for discounts up to 30% off.
Enjoy these Back to Basics super deals and a TV segment to boost your week!

  1. I enjoyed your speech at the UAHVO conference in St. George. I spoke with you for a short while about my 16 years grandson with autism
and you subjected a book for me. However I don’t remember the name. Could you please send me the name. Thanks
