“Energize” Weight Loss! Fit & Fab 60-min Dnld Only $3.95!

Fresh vegetables fallingWoo hoo, I’m finally feeling more back to normal now that I’ve lost the holiday weight, thanks to Fit & Fabulous principles. If you’re doing this too, you’ve likely been focusing on two of the three pillars, Eat and Exercise, but what about Energize? The top three emotional triggers for women overeating tend to be anger, boredom, and frustration.
One of the best weight loss methods I’ve ever used has been to find a hobby or interest that I love, then to pursue it in chewable chunks. Each time I write a book, I lose weight (definite incentive to write). But that has been a conscious choice, starting from the get-go to set a rule that when writing, there is no munching. Similarly, as I’ve immersed myself in hobbies such a writing, painting (by number!), reading, or scrapbooking, I find that even 15 minutes to an hour of any of those keeps me so focused that I forget food.
Another way to energize is to take a nap. Sometimes, especially in the wee hours of the morning, we tend reach for salty or sweet foods to keep us going. Observe your typical blood sugar dip times—mid-morning and/or mid-afternoon. Take a 15-minute power nap or use a healthy protein bar to restore energy rather than make a quick fix.
Lastly, energize by simply being still, no napping required. Even if it’s leaning back in the car seat while you wait for your children, close your eyes, and repeat a positive affirmation several times in your head: “Even though I feel tired and overwhelmed, I deeply love and accept myself.” Or, put on quiet music and allow yourself to drift. Or, just be still.
Rest is where the body rebuilds and weight loss occurs so choose a few unused talents, dusty hobbies, or meditation music downloads to help it along. And enjoy the process!
Best,
Connie
