DAY 16: Make a Move

Faithful-Fit-and-Fabulous_2x3
After the women’s retreat experience that I shared with you a few days ago, I wrote down a few things that I felt strongly to do.
Easy enough.
But later, the idea of doing any of them made me feel overwhelmed, self-doubting, and worried.
But then I asked myself, why did those negative feelings surface when just a few hours before I had felt compelled and motivated to do good?
It hit me—I was afraid to move. I was afraid to be or do wrong. Then the thought clearly came to just move. To take one step and find out for sure if any of those thoughts were a “good seed” or not. Then by the “fruits” I could know if it was truly good—timing, situation, details—or not.
In life, I believe we’ll have a variety of good motives and ideas on any number of things. However, it’s up to us to put forth the energy—spiritual, physical, emotional, and mental—to find out which is the best one for us and our families at that given time. To know what God would truly have us do with our time, energy, and love.
So I moved. I took one step and made one call to meet with a gal from the retreat. That fantastic conversation led to me to consider re-starting once-a-month gathering groups for the Back to Basics program. That idea led me to email another gal about something totally unrelated, but then later mentioning, bravely, my thoughts on doing the program again. She shared that, by the way, they had room for evening classes at their monthly gathering place (great location with great people), and would I be interested?
Wow.
With one step, an idea was becoming a reality. The seed was bearing fruit, and the fruit was looking good.
Now, instead of worried and self-doubting, I am trusting in Him to lead me along. Knowing my positive core intent and making small clear choices, I’m excited to see where this path will lead.
Now it’s your turn:
What are some thoughts or ideas of ways you have had on how to make a difference or contribute your talents and abilities?
What is one thought or idea you would like to act on that you feel good about?
What’s stopping you?
What one step could “move” you?
Happy Journey,
Connie
