Over the years, I’ve had the privilege and absolute delight to speak to wonderful LDS stakes teeming with steadfast, optimistic, and bright women.
Recently, I spoke at the Clearfield, Utah stake and was overwhelmed by their goodness, too. From start to finish I felt appreciated (including a custom-made apron with the theme on it—was this a hint to do more cooking??—and then a boxed dinner for my family so I didn’t have to cook dinner that night!) These women like the others came hungry to hear truth and ready to put it into practice. My pressure and prayer have been to give them that, hoping we all leave with a happier heart.
Each time I have felt appreciated and thanked for the time away from my family. (I share the pictures here of the Clearfield Stake not to imply that other stakes weren’t as amazing, I simply remembered to take pictures at this one as my daughter was with me!) Women have choreographed busy family schedules to attend these church conferences, and patiently waited to talk with me afterward, even if meant awhile. They’ve taken notes and asked questions and been so obviously desirous to improve their and their family’s already good lives.
So I take this moment to thank YOU wonderful women and to let you know, fully, how much I learn and receive from you. Each experience I come away renewed and rejuvenated in my energy and my desire to do good, both for my family and others. Your love and light expand mine, and I feel grateful and honored to be with you.
Thank you so much, and know that every single good thing you do is noted and needed, even when it doesn’t seem that way. How grateful I am for how you’ve blessed my life!
